Our elderly (17+) Himilayan has always been "a talker" but it she was way out of control - especially throughout the night. Tension had taken over in our household due to no sleep because she'd spend the night roaming the house at night yelling. A couple of months ago, Morgan, my 15 year old tuxedo started becoming increasingly vocal at night, developed heavier breathing patterns, was eating like a horse and rapidly losing weight. I took my 10 year old cat to the vet on August 15 his T-4 came back at 10.4 I took him back 7 wks later and it is down to 6.2 it should be under 4. Of course the vet is not happy because it isn't normal yet but how can she deny that it is down 4 points. She commented that his coat looked great and he has gained a pound. "So last week, I was watching my cat just wasting away to nothing. She was listless, eating, drinking a ton and still losing weight. Well, I had a call into the doctor , but never spoke to her cause I had already made my mind up based on what I had read that 'Pupster' was hyperthyroid. I just happen to see an ad about a hyperthyroid medicine(Resthyro); while researching and it mentioned that it would calm the "yowling" and I knew instantly that hyperthyroidism was what we were dealing with. I tried Resthyro because Avalanche developed anemia from the oral medication ordered previously. His hematocrit dropped dangerously so I insisted on stopping the medication. I searched the internet, found this and I am surprised at how effective it has been. One problem with the medication, however, is the dosing instructions. I was not giving nearly enough. I found that I only got results with one almost full dropper of the medication twice a day. I have seen no side effects from it. It has not restored Ave to the exuberance of his youth, but nothing can. If Resthyro could do that, I'd take it! I can say that he is greatly improved, his thyroid levels are down and his hematocrit is normal and I am very happy. I took Cee Cee (10 yrs old) to the Vet Saturday for her Follow Up T-4 bloodwork. The vet called up today with GREAT news!! Cee Cee's T4 levels are..... Back in the Normal range -- Yay!!!

My little 13 year old black and white "tuxedo" kitty ,Cleo, was always considered petite (also known as the runt), but when I could feel every bone in her spine I knew there was a problem. Stuff Works! Had my 10+ year old cat Angel on Tapazole , but cat was still eating like she was starving, plus still having a lot of hair loss.It was like she was having good days and bad days on the meds. Anyway, after reading the reviews took a chance on a "Natural" product. I'm a vegan so do think natural is best, if it works!
Bottom line, Angel has been on Resthyro one week and within the first two days her coat began to look better, she acted less stressed and now she doesn't woof down her food as if she hasn't eated in days. I give her three drops twice a day in a teaspoon of milk. Licks it all up no problem. Hey, sure beats trying to get a pill down her. Well, Cee Cee goes back for bloodwork soon -- The vet said I could try this on her and then we'll see what the bloodwork says. She's been on it for about 1 month and a half -- I put it atop her wet food (quality, whatever my budget can handle) and she chows down happily. This cat went to the vet twice and twice they wanted to put her to sleep. They put her on meds that had side effects and the cat was better and ill at the same time. About 3 months ago I took my 10yr old torti to the vet for her regular Rabies shot. The vet also ran blood tests and found her T-4 numbers off slightly. The vet did not perscribe meds or any other therapy at that time but after doing some online research of my own at home I ordered resthyro. Her skin was dry and she was shedding ALOT. She was also a bit overweight, lethargic and very shy. After being on Resthyro for at least 2 months she has lost about a pound, her face and eyes looks brighter and she seems friendlier and more energetic. I mix the supplement in my cat's food. This couldn't be easier. The regular thyroid meds made him very sick; we had no options except surgery. Being 17 years old our vet was reluctant to operate as he might not survive the anesthesia. A web search led me to the answer for his health. Ten year old male cat, dx with hypertyroidism May 2009, after 2 or 3 month of increasingly noticable symtoms(irritability, thirst, panting, increase appetite, vomiting, etc.) Tapazole increased to 5mg three times a day and tyroid level remained elevated. He was still vomiting almost daily and multiple times a day. He was losing muscle mass and weight. I think it was side effects from the tapazole, despite the vet telling me that tapazole did not cause that side effect.
Desperate to help my cat, I started researching alternatives and found Resthyro. I stopped giving the tapazole and started using the Resthyro. The symtoms increased three-fold and tyroid level remained elevated. I started giving him 7.5mg tapazole in am along with the Resthyro and 7.5mg tapazole in pm with Resthyro. His thyroid level remains just a couple points over the high end of normal. BUT his symtoms are gone. He doesn't vomit. He is not nervous or irritable. His water consumption is normal, Although he continues to eat more than he used to, he hasn't gained weight, but hasn't lost anymore weight. He is so much more comfortable and himself. The Resthyro is not reccomended or intended for use with medication. I knew that prior to administering them together. I contine regular vet visits to check tyroid levels.

I will continue to use the Restyro to control his symtoms. I think by giving it with the tapazole, his nausea is controled. I would reccomend use of this product for that purpose.

My 8 year old cat Edith was recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. She went from my favorite plus size super model weight of 13 pounds down to 101/2. Still fairly healthy but losing weight and YOWLING at night.

Our cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (why is this so common?). The vet's prescription made the cat lie in one place for the entire day. Decreasing the dosage didn't work either. My older boy kitty doesn't seem to mind the taste all that much. He will swallow it when it's time for it. It seems to really help with the hyperthyroid symptoms in conjunction with the methamizole. Eight months' ago my 13 year old cat started losing weight. Her yearly checkup showed that she had hyperthyroidism. The vet gave her pills that made her extremely nauseous. this med was well worth a try. if i did what the vet recommended to do it would have cost 2 grand every 4 months just to keep my 12 year old cat alive. after buying these meds in about 1 week every thing changed with my cat.i was told to put him on kitten food to build up his body mass quicker and thats really helping. hes back to the same old cat. it says not to talk about the pricing of any of this but you all should know that this is the way to go,its affordable concidering the other options.my cat will only eat it tuna. tried many other ways and nothing worked.thankyou for a better way and for keeping our family pet alive.

My cat Peggy was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism in Feb 2010. I started using Resthyro in the April hoping she would make a recovery. Unfortunately with much heartache Peggy passed away on 4th July. The meds brought the numbers down with her blood work, but I didn't see any improvement in her state of health. This product, however, does pretty well for her coat and weight, but I wish it did a little more for her nervousness/rapid heart rate. The Chinese herbs did better in that department. Also, it really doesn't need to be that sweet. Makes me wonder if you're covering up for a weak product, and I don't like giving my cat all that sugar. The liquid form is excellent and easy to administer. Works well in combo with Nature's Herbs "Thyroid Calming".

Resthyro worked very quickly. Within a few days of giving her the drops, my cat began to improve from her hyperthyroid symptoms. She started to gain weight back and stopped her incessant crying. Foolishly, I started to increase her dosage. WARNING: DO NOT OVERDOSE!! A few days later she practically stopped eating for parts of three days. I feared it was the end. After about four weeks on resthyro my cat looks visibly healthier. She has not vomited once since she started on it and her coat no longer looks matted and dull. After nearly one year, two veterinarians, plus hundreds of dollars for office calls and tests, I was finally given a diagnosis for my now 12-year-old cat: hyperthyroidism. Bart's weight was down to barely 7 pounds, he was urinating in his sleep, and his stool was basically water. After a pricey lab test, the vet prescribed a prescription pill to be taken twice a day. The pills cost over $1 each, just shy of $70/month. In addition, after being told about minor side-effects at the vet's office, I found online that the medicine also can cause liver damage. After weeks of struggling with shoving pills down Bart's throat, absolutely nothing had changed in his condition. I did online research & ordered Resthyro. I put Toonces' (Satuday Night Live skit) medicine in low sodium chicken broth and he has stopped yowling at night and being so hyper. He is no longer losing his fur and isn't doing the dry heaves anymore (that would make me cry). He really hasn't gained weight yet, maybe 1/2 lb., however, I am hoping as he was eating his food and still losing weight before and now he is eating well and not losing anymore. He is 16 and has never ever been sick, he's an indoor cat and used to weigh 20 lbs. He is around 8 lbs. now, but he's so much more content and even stalks his little "sister" who is 12. He loves the broth, so that seems a good way to give the medicine as he will not tolerate the dropper. We have used it for 22 days, so a little weight gain may come later. My 19 year old cat, Baby, receives three doses daily of Resthyro. I drop it onto the 'wettest' part of her soft food and she chows down.

About a year ago, Baby began yowling. She'd do 3 to 5 sessions a day with up to 8 yowls per session. We had recently moved so I assumed it was stress, but it continued too long for that. Around the same time she was going through 3 cans of soft catfood a day yet losing weight like crazy.

When I bought this I was skeptical, but the very high cost and surgery it would have been for my cat and myself convinced me to give it a try.

My cat Butchie is my son to me. He had lost so much weight, I was scared. His shoulder bones were sticking up and his collar was so loose I thought he was going to lose it any second. He had been vomiting three to five times a week also (although he was eating like a piggy, but urinating very often and drinking a lot more water). He is almost 9 1/2 years old.

Not knowing how I was going to administer these drops was a bit unnerving, but then I decided to put them in a small jar of chicken baby food with chicken broth or beef baby food with beef broth. I give him one jar a day first thing in the morning when I get up just mixing it in. I got Resthyro in mid Dec '09 for my 16 yr old cat that was diaognosed with early Hyperthyroidism. Not wanting to go the traditional medical route, I thought this product might help. I started out with a low dose of 2 drops a day for 2 weeks & then full dose, 5 drops 2x day, for his body weight on 1/6/10. He tolerated the drops with his food with no problem.
Visually he seemed the same over the course of treatment. Vocal, repeated trips to drink water, weight remained about the same (11 lbs). On 3/1/10 I had his bloodwork re-tested and the Vet told me the T4 levels were now higher @ 4.7 than they were in Dec '09 @ 3.8.
So, I am not sure what the Resthryo actually did, if anything. I was so surprised at the re-checked bloodwork results, as I thought that the Resthyro would really show some improvement.
I have since stopped using it on 3/4/10. Perhaps this proiduct is not the answer for my cat. I wish I could share the same wonderful reviews as some of the other cat owners. I am going to try another approach to try an help his condition.

I was very excited about trying Resthyro. We took him off of his thyroid pills. He was on Resthyro for almost a week, but his heart rate went back up, he started throwing up and he stopped eating . Our 17 year old cat was losing weight, getting weaker and staying more to himself. He had been on Methimazole ointment applied to the ear twice a day for over a year. Because he was yowling at night I was willing to try something different and found Resthyrol. I gave it to our cat for six days. Three days after starting it, our cat's T4 had risen slightly above normal. The veterinarian also said that he had tachycardia, but that she was open to homeopathic remedies. I continued the Resthyrol for three more days. I tried listening to his heartrate at home with a stethoscope and his rate was so rapid it was difficult to count. His neck veins were also distended, possibly meaning that his heart was under stress. Knowing that uncontrolled hyperthyroidism can cause heart trouble, I decided that I wasn't going to take the risk of continuing the Resthyrol. I really wished it would have worked better. If I could have given it longer, maybe it would have eventually worked, but time was not on our side. Also, our cat was diagnosed with diabetes in January which made it more complicated. We have recently started him on Insulin twice a day and we returned to the Methimazole under the ear twice a day.

We have already lost one cat to hyperthyrodism that was on medication from the Vet so rather than subject Billie Jo to possible kidney problems, decided to go with an all natural product. When my cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism she was losing weight and her hair was falling out. Her bowl movements were like water. My 13 year old cat was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidsm and was losing weight, was hyperactive, pacing, irritable. I read the reviews and thought, why not give it a try. Our vet put him on Tapazole at 2.5 mg 2x per day. The product came a couple days later so I added 2 drops 2 times per day to his food. He ate it up no problem. 2 weeks later we had his T4 levels retested and to my vet's surprise his level went from 156 to 35! Right in the middle of a normal range. My senior cat was diagnoses with hyperthyroidism. He was atypical in his symptoms which would explain why the vet missed it. I was the one to request the thyroid test.
My cat was very ill. His values were 13.5 (norm is .4 to 4.0). The vet wanted me to take very drastic measures, and gave me 24 hours to make up my mind (funny since he missed the illness to begin with until I demanded the test). It seemed the best option at the time was radioactive iodine therapy. Due to my cat's age and weakened condition, I chose to search for an alternative and safer option. I'm so glad I did!
I know that it isn't normal to see results so quickly, but I'm not kidding when I tell you that within a few hours of his first dose, things started improving. I found out that my 15 year old cat was diagnosed with a Hyperthyroid. I was very worried because he lost so much weight and was not doing very well. The vet recommended that we give him a perception for his hyperthyroid because of his age. I gave my cat the medication for about a week and noticed that he was vomiting every day. I called the vet and he told me it's because his body is not getting rid of the toxins in his system. He informed me that it's a side effect of the drug to cause kidney failure. I stopped giving him the perception medication and went on the internet to look for a better all natural way to help him. I found this website and thought I would give it a try. After 3 weeks on the Resthyro, Patches was eating better and calmed down considerably. She gained 5 oz. However we re-did her blood work and her level was higher than before! From 14.7 to 15.6. I decided to add back the vet meds...only 1/4 tab a day and keep with the twice daily Resthyro. I will check again in a month. She LOOKS for the Resthyro now, so I think she knows it is helping her out. We rescued our old gal, Makita from a beer joint many years ago. We think she is at least 17 - 18 years old. my 15 yr old buddy frank was diagnosed with the 'beginning' stages of hyperthyroidism. vet said we caught it early and should start right away with the meds, then retest him. i still haven't seen the actual results from the first tests, but....
putting frank on meds seemed like an all around miserable bad idea. he's pretty happy in general. a little skinny, thin coat, very vocal and a little nuerotic (but he has always exhibited some of these), crying for his wet food in the am, but none of the diarrhea or vomiting symptoms that would alarm me and make me think he needed meds.
Told the vet we were trying resthyro first, she checked some 'vet website' and said that reports said it doesn't work
BULL!! ONE WEEK and frankie is already looking and acting like a new cat. his coat has started to fill in and he has stopped pulling at his fur. totally chill, almost no neurotic meowing (back to normal conversational meowing), and call me crazy but he looks to be gaining a bit of weight.

CeCe is 15 years old and just diagnosed. I had tried the transdermal gel and she had an allergic reaction (puffy face, crying). It has only been 3 weeks and she is slightly improving. My kitty is 15 yrs. old. About 5 years ago she started losing weight. She was diagnosed with feline hyperthyroid disorder. Her weight dropped from 9 lbs. to less than 5-1/2 lbs. with most of that loss in the past 2 years. The vet wanted to put her on thyroid medication that had horrible side effects, or cut out part of her thyroid, or give her radioactive iodine. At her age, all of those options scared me.

I refused, and have been treating her with supplements. The weight loss slowed drastically but still did not stop. The situation became critical during the holidays. I have just started my 13 yr old Patches on this med. I found the easiest way to get her to take it, is to put the drops on a tablespoon, then add milk. She happily laps it off the spoon. A spoonful works the best because it is the only way to guarantee she took the full dose. She is a tiny cat so 3 drops is hard to monitor. I tried in food, just giving her the drops etc...this works so well! I am really hoping to see some good results in a few weeks. I will report back.

Charlie is improving on Resthyro!!! He has been on this supplement for two weeks. Yowling and diarrhea have almost disappeared. Pawing at me and running through my legs while I prepare cat meals has decreased dramatically in the 2 weeks that Charlie has been on this supplement. Charlie has gained back 1 pound of a 4 pound loss since starting Resthyro. Charlie, age 16 years, is a large, orange male cat, has always loved to eat and typically weighed 16 pounds. The ravenous behavior, pawing, slapping my other cats were all behaviors that Charlie displayed while on thyroid prescription medication for the last 5 years. As a last resort, I gave this a try and in three short weeks Mystic has added 1 1/2 pounds. She is more energetic and back to prowling the backyard. Her water intake has lessened; her stool is once again regular and she has begun grooming again.

My oldest cat Ashley had been on a thyroid drug for quite a few months, and I just wasn't happy with her health, even though the vet has said her levels had gone down after being way too high - thus causing heart issues.

Fox is 14 1/2 yrs. old. He is getting well with your RES-Thyro product. He had been on Methimazole for his hyperactive thyroid and I was worried sick because his vet told me that the Methimazole was affecting his kidneys but he had no other recourse than to keep taking the Methimazole. Fox lived parked by his water bowl and every time I looked at him his muzzle was wet. He had gotten really fat even though he didn`t eat that much and he was bloated and lethargic.

This is the story of Miss Callie and her fight against hyperthyroidism. Callie is a beautiful black and white kitty of 13 and half years young. She's has a twin sister, Miss Lillie, who has always been small and petite, not like her sister, Miss Callie, who prided herself in being twice the size of Miss Lillie. Her weight was about 15 pounds until this past spring.

Miss Callie, who we never had any medical problems with; who was always easy going with the two dogs, her sister and our new Siamese (2 years old), Frank, began to loose weight --- quickly. There were no other symptoms except she and Frank began to fight alot.

I was horrified at the fact of loosing my 19 year old cat Sheba who I've had since I was two years old. I first noticed a small lump on her neck which I thought was caused from her excessive amount of throwing up. I have to thank you for this product. When I read that one customer said it gave them their cat back, I wondered if that was a real testimonial. No more! My 16 yr old male Tiger cat LaBelle was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a few years ago. I began giving Resthyro to Jake, my 15 year old Tabby for his hyperthyroidism about 2 weeks ago. A major factor in trying this, for me, was the vet bills. I simply cannot afford the monthly bloodwork right now, which I feel terrible about. Also, the Methimazole was causing him to vomit, and in general, I do prefer natural medicine.

Jake has not lost any more weight since starting the Resthyro, and he does have his bouts of energy. He seems to not drink as much, or eat as much but I want to give this some more time.

I want to mention that Jake also is in early Renal failure, which is likely causing some symptoms.

I would recommend this product, because it is very gentle & affordable, and very easy to administer. I am giving it more time as I know that sometimes it can take a while for herbal supplements to work.

My 14 year old Cat - Munchkin was recently diagnosed with Hyper Thyroid with a turmor on her thryoid- she had lost a lot of weight- was never coming out from her room-vomiting and had stopped eating- the vet gave me some pills which made it worse- The vet said we could do a proceedure that costs $1,500. that was not a sure bet -she was unkept for the first time in her life. My cat was extreme with hyperthyrodism. Within a day or so of beginning the vomiting, excessive eating without gaining weight, the yowlling and bad temper have dissipated. I did also begin the Tripsy as it said often hyperthyrodism will mask the problem which may surface when under control. I did have to cut back to only one dose a day which seems to be a good maintenance at this point. My cat is geriatric 20 years old and I have noticed the arthritis seems more prominent now not sure how that if it had been masked by problem or perhaps a side effect. This stuff didn't have a chance to help my cat. He was 16 years old and had all of the sympthoms for thyroid deficiency. By the time I ordered this stuff, he was already in the organ shutting down phase and had a stroke. I think it was too late to try anything. I have 2 older cats that suffer from Hyperthyroidism. I've definitely noticed an improvement in several areas: attitude (not screaming at me to feed them all the time), they don't pace constantly (seem calmer), their eyes seem more alert (I can see life in their eyes verses a blank stare). I can just tell they feel better. I put it in a little bit of wet food, twice a day and they eat it right up. Several months ago, we began to notice symptoms of hyperthyroidism in our 13 year old cat Nicki; constant hunger, weight loss, yowling, frequent vomiting, seeming nervous and irritated. My cat Punkin who is 18 yrs, was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He was losing weight, vomiting, yowling, excessive eating, drinking and peeing. We used this on our 16 y.o. cat with beginning stages of hyperthyroidism. Unfortunately, the only thing it did was to reduce the yowling. He acted stoned after each dose (probably due to the valerian root-which in humans can cause liver problems with prolonged use). If possible, I prefer to medicate myself and my pets with natural products and/or combine with conventional medicines when necessary. The Resthyro liquid easily mixes into food, slight (sweet) but pleasant taste. I always taste any kind of medication I am giving my pets before I administer it, then I figure how to get them to take it. My male cat is at least 15 this year. I recently found out that his fairly recent strange behaviour, of no longer being able to eat his dry food, drinking more, peeing a lot more, inhaling his canned food then yowling and screaming at me for more, following me like a shadow, constant restlessness, panting, rapid heart rate, weight loss and deteriorating coat health, is because he has hyperthyroidism, which I also just found out about, by doing some research on the internet,as well as an examination and talking to his vet. I gave him the conventional medicine (pill's) for a few days until I received the Resthyro. I began to give it to him morning and night, then one or two days a week I give him half a pill in a small piece of tender chicken. It took a couple of days and he calmed down, rested much better, no panting, not so hot, not screaming at me, plus, to stop him throwing up all his food, which was happening once or twice a week, I am feeding him small portions several times throughout the day. I work three days a week, on those days, I give him a small portion of food when I get up, with the Resthyro in it. When I leave the house I put a larger portion of food in his dish so he won't be so hungry when I get home around 6:00PM. Then I immediately give him a meal with the Resthyro in it and feed him a couple more times throughout the evening until bedtime. He is definitely feeling much better. My sweet girl Yaya is 18 yo and was diagnosed with hyperthyroid only a year and a half ago. It has been painful to watch her slow decline. Up until a month ago she has been on methamizole. I never write reviews but this time its worth it. A month ago I was sitting at my computer crying because I had just found out my cat, Ozzy, has hyperthyroid disease and he probably wasnt going to make it. He was skinny, grumpy, had no energy to eat, and his coat just looked terrible. I didnt know what to do, everything I read about the vet prescribed solution didnt look hopeful. What they wanted to give him, might have helped but the side effects were terrible and they would kill him in the long run (Do some research into it!). So for the first time in my life, I chose herbal and natural over pharmaceutical. I'm glad to say that hes back to his old self. It was a very immediate change too once he received this medication. Also get some vitamins into your cat, this disease is starving your cat to death. Thats what kept Ozzy going long enough to get him the resthyro. I cant say that Resthyro will save your cat but it saved mine.

My cat Stitch was diagnosed hyperthyroid on a vet visit for a UTI. He has no symptoms but the vet said it was very high. Stitch does not handle going to the vet. I could not imagine taking him to the vet every three months. It is so much stress on both of us. I am not a huge medicine fan for myself so decided to find something on the homeopathic line for him. I give it in canned cat food. It hasn't had any negative effects. He does seem to be more at peace. As long as it doesn't hurt him I will keep it up. He is almost 11. My cat was exhibiting all the symptoms and I thought I'd give this a try. Just before we began adding drops to his food everyday, he was vomiting up to several times each night and losing weight rapidly.

My 14 year old cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and put on prescription medication. Within two weeks he had such severe reactions I took him off the meds. In the mean time I ordered Resthryo off the Internet. Within a few days of starting this product he was much better and within two weeks most of the symptoms disappeared. I've only used it for a week and a half but it seems my cat Highway is a bit more peppy. She is 14yrs. She has lost about 2 pounds in the past yr. so we went to the vet and was diagnoised hyper-t.
I put her on Resthyro while I was deciding what way to treat her. I think if her t-4 was a bit lower I might keep her on the Resthyro and see if her hyper-t could be controled with it but given the fact she is a bit advanced we are choosing Radio Iodine treatment as it is the most promising treatment. I would recommand Resthyro as either control of hyper-t or at least till you decide what to do. Highway took it well and no side effects. Only seemed to want to play more. That was a good thing so it may be doing something. After about 4 days I started giving it to her double dose twice a day.

Our 16 year-old cat Sara, started loosing weight dramatically four months ago and her behavior was very OCD. She could hardly be still. After doing my research, I determined she was hyper-thyroid. Doing more research, I decided that the standard drugs vets prescribe for this condition was probably more damaging then the disease itself. Standard hyperthyroid med almost killed my 18 year old cat. He was losing weight fast. He has been on this for about two months now. The weight loss has stopped and he gained only about 5 ounces but it has given us some hope. Toby has been on this product about 3 mos. The main changes I have seen are that he is sleeping much better & doesn't seem quite as agitated. After a yr check, we were told our 15 yr old CoCo had hyperthyroidism. His medication caused bad side effects. I went online to find another, less harsh, medication. Resthyro, given twice daily, doesn't have the bad effects of the other medication. CoCo likes the taste and has gotten back some of her previous activity, even kitty soccer, and has gained 1/2 lb. The RX my vet perscribed was causing my 14 year old cat, Boo Boo to have EXTREME respiratory distress for about six hours at a stretch every day. The vet had no answers so I took her off the RX myself and put her on Resthyro. It took two weeks to get the RX drug out of her system and put an end to the respiratory distress. My advice regarding the Resthyro is to try it for at least a month before you judge it. Boo Boo weighs 10.5 pounds and I give her 6 drops in a spoon twice a day. I don't mix it with anything because I think the absorption is better straight. I even rub a little on her gums if there is some left in the spoon after I pour it in her mouth. It is better to give the dose a little early rather than late, to keep the symptoms at bay. Boo Boo tolerates it well but isn't thrilled to see it coming. I am thrilled to have something natural to give her since RX drugs often have worse side effects than the disease they are treating. I ordered two bottles and am still on my first bottle after three months so it is a good value. I haven't had blood work done since I started the Resthyro because I am gun-shy re. my vet's judgment but the symptoms are 90% better unless I am late with a dose, then she may have a restless night. After one month of using Resthryro, my cat Milo seems to have improved. He's gained some weight. Seems less agitated. I like this product better than Tapazol, the product frequently administered to cats with Hyperthroidism. I used it on one of of cats years ago, and he really did not feel well on Tapazol.

Because of the past experience with that cat, I chose to try using a Homeopathic treatment instead this time. So far...so good! I've also just ordered a vitamin product to try. I hope it also works well. I particularly like being able to administer with eye dropper/liquid. Much easier than trying to pill.

I wish the eye dropper that comes with the Resthyro had better markings. I do not see ANY marking ml etc or lines on the last that was sent with my bottle? If that was just a mistake, hopefully, you will consider making the millileter lines on the dropper in the future.

I believe in Homepathic treatment for health and so far am very happy to see my little furry guy responding and feeling better.

My mom had two cats who died this past year from hyperthyroidism, despite using expensive prescription medication from the vet. Recently, she had a third cat diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Our 15 year old female cat developed rapidly worsening signs of hyperthyroidism late this summer - restlessness, poor coat, increased vocalization, weight loss despite incredible appetite, large stools, extremely rapid heart rate ... you know the drill. As a long time owner of many cats, I did not take her to the vet to hear the diagnosis and pay hundreds of dollars for what I already knew. This cat has been one of the healthiest cats I've ever had, so it was pretty clear what the problem was. Hyperthyroidism has a grim prognosis, but we want her time left to be as stress-free as possible.

We have many animals here on the farm, and have always had much better luck with herbal preparations and proper species-specific nutrition than with pharmaceuticals. We can't afford the radio iodine treatment, and it has been our experience that the HT meds aren't effective for long and have plenty of side-effects - so I went searching online for something to try and came across Resthyro.

It's been just about a month, and our Pippy is much improved. I am giving a full dropper twice a day. Her coat is coming in, she is much calmer, and is holding her weight. Her stools are smaller, her appetite is still good but not ravenous. There are days when she seems almost normal. Her heart rate is still fast, but it is noticeably not AS fast, and she can sleep deeply again. We do not let her out any more, and keep our other cats from harassing her. We have also given her pro biotics , always a staple here on the farm.

It's my belief that the Resthyro is helping, and I am very grateful for that. I know that the outcome will not be good for this cat, but any good quality time we can give her is wonderful.

My cat of 12 years has hyperthyroidism. I found this product to be very helpful with his diarrhea.
I had tried what the vet gave me but it didn't work and after researching I found this product and bought it. My cat will probably die as he has withered away his muscle mass. I wish I found this product sooner. I will miss him and wish an easy passing for him when his time comes. I do have some hope for him but feel that I may have been too late in obtaining the correct treatment. This product has helped with his diarrhea. He still goes to the bathroom a lot. After taking it for 4 days (he was showing just the beginning signs of hyperthyroidism) the diarrhea was extreme and we discontinued use, it compromised Jerry to such an extreme that he never could get over the diarrhea. Last week, 3 weeks after taking it initially, he died at 8 years old.
Herbal treatments are not regulated/tested by the FDA so PLEASE check with your vet first.

caused severe diarrhea after a couple days in Jerry, our 9 year old, one of 5. My kitty never quite got over that, it became so severe we had to keep him outside. I started my hyperthyroid cat on this in the hope that it would work and he wouldn't need to go on the expensive and riskier medication from the vet. It is working wonderfully! He's putting on weight, his fur is healthier, he's less skittish... I haven't had his blood levels repeated yet, but he's an obviously much healthier cat. In addition, it has been very easy to dose him with this. I just add the drops to some canned cat food and he wolfs it down. Anyone who has tried to "pill" a cat knows what a great advantage that is. One of the two cats I had on the herb combination was able to keep a relatively good balance with this product. Although he did have to go through radiation treatments because of the tumor it was something he was able to tolerate where other medications would not work.

Rascal is 18 years old and showed every sign of hyperthyoidism. After researching the product on the net I decided to try it. After the first day Rascal felt better. After a week his fur shines again ,his appetite is normal again, the vomitting has gone away.He still has some loose stools but that is clearing up too. Hopefully there will be some weight gain as the weeks go by But the product definitely removed alot of Rascals signs of hyperthyroidism. very positive - he would have died without it. he's doing so good - put on good weight (muscle) and looks great - resthyro is the cornerstone of his treatment, however there are other things have done: gets raw meat and raw eggs with suplements (mineral, EFA, CoQ10, flavonoids, etc). only complaint is dosage suggestions - found he needs a bit more than recommended.

I read online that someone else had a good result with resthyro so I tried it. It has worked great. Molly has been on it for months - his (yes, he is a boy) coat got shiny again, and he gained some weight - he is still thin - but MUCH better, and a happy kitty. Our 12-yr-old, Flower, a feisty outdoor cat, was diagnosed with advanced hyperthyroidism. The vet suggested radiation and other long-term, expensive drug treatments to manage it. As a family, we decided Flower would not adapt well to these treatments, and as she had lived a full life, we chose not to subject her to the radiation or daily pills. We decided we would let her live out her days in the way she had always enjoyed. Not quite satisfied with this however, I found Resthyro on the internet and thought it was worth a try. This is a great alternative for those who have older cats who are difficult to treat with pills. We put a few drops in milk which she lapped up easily. She continued to be often hungry and thirsty - also easy to solve, more food and water.
Fifteen months later, Flower returned to the vet for a checkup and they could not believe she was 1) still alive and 2) had gained a pound in weight! Her levels were still high indicating hyperthyroidism, but the vet could not explain Flower's ability to maintain weight, or that she seemed otherwise healthy and vigorous. (She scratched him good when they took her blood for the test.)
Nonetheless, when we told him about the product, he advised us to keep using it at the dosage we had been giving, because it was helping her.
Flower will be 14 in March 2009.
