What is Tripsy

Tripsy for cat kidney disease is a helpful natural formula for use in combination with traditional treatments. Tripsy contains a powerful combination of herbal extracts that are used to:

  • Support healthy kidney function
  • Help protect against kidney infections
  • Promote urinary flow
  • Help ease the pain and discomfort of kidney stones

Doctor-formulated and vet-approved

Formulated by a leading naturopathic veterinarian, Tripsy is one of our best-loved products. Even though it is a potent formula, it is all natural and gentle enough for long term use.

Tripsy will help your cat look and feel much better… quickly!

Additional Support

If your cat is suffering from any form of kidney disease, you must see your vet to discuss conventional treatment options such as.

  • Various medications
  • Kidney transplants.
  • Intravenous fluid treatment
  • Dialysis (artificial blood filtering)

Also be sure to ensure your cat is getting plenty of fresh water. A low sodium and reduced protein diet is often recommended for this condition.

What is Kidney Disease

Kidney problems are among the top causes of illness and death in older cats.

Two common types of cat kidney problems are:

  • Chronic renal (kidney) failure
  • Kidney stones

Renal (kidney) failure, as its name implies, is when the kidney fails to do its job, which is to concentrate the urine and cleanse the blood.

Renal failure can be acute or chronic. Acute kidney failure is usually the result of a cat drinking a toxin. If the cat survives the initial trauma, it is often reversible. Chronic kidney failure sneaks up more gradually.

Common Symptoms of feline renal (kidney) disease

  • Poor coat
  • Loss of appetite
  • Depression and/or vomiting
  • Presence of blood in the urine
  • Increased frequency of urination

Kidney stones are mineral deposits that from in a cat's kidneys. They irritate the bladder lining and can even block a cat's urinary tract, causing pain and difficulty in urination.

Poor diet, including high sodium (salt) intake is one cause of kidney stones. Pets that have excessive mineral content in the diet are more likely to be affected.

Does this formula contain any diuretics?

Although an herb may have a slight diuretic effect it is not used as a diuretic in this formula.  The combination of the other herbs in the formula help balance out the diuretic effect.  For any of these herbs to work as a diuretic they would have to be taken as single herb at a different dosage or would have to be combined with other herbs that also work as diuretics.

Our customers have the final word...
Hello!  I am SO HAPPY to have heard about your product!  Being told your pet is "dying of acute adrenal failure" following a blood test can be devastating.  Thank God I went to the internet for more info and up popped Tripsy!   Albert  (my seven year old cat) is doing just fine.  He has gained weight, and continues to have a healthy appetite. We are on our third bottle and I could not be more grateful!

Thank You!

I purchased Tripsy for my sixteen year old cat,Calico. The vet said that she was in kidney failure. She now takes two doses of Tripsy per day. Calico is back to her old self: purring, grooming, and she has a shiny coat. I am so glad that I found your website. Thank you for offering such a wonderful product! I do have a question. The bottle is rather large, and I am afraid that it will expire before it is all used. Can Tripsy be safely frozen?

Thank you so much!

“All my life I have had cats but before now, none of them have had kidney disease. My current cat, Brit, is a kind, gentle animal who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. Being a bit of a health food, natural product, environmentally aware kind of girl, my first thought was to seek out some natural products to give to Brit. After a brief search I came across Tripsy on your website. After reading the details and potential benefits I decided this was what I was looking for. I was right! It worked like a charm and I can’t thank you enough. Brit is picking up nicely and that tells me Tripsy really helped!”

"Hi, about a year ago we turned to you for help for our cat Buster who just recently celebrated his 20th Birthday. My friend Gisela firmly believes that your Hearty Heart and Tripsy helped him a lot and he is much better now than a year ago. I just want to thank you and I'm sending to you a couple of pictures of him eating a tomato (happen to like tomatoes)."

"I just want to say thanks for such a wonderful supplement. Dickens was diagnosed last October, 2007 with chronic kidney disease and his lab results were not very good. I took him to the vet's and left him there for intravenous therapy for three days, they force-fed him by inserting a tube in his throat for the duration of his stay. When I got him home he was so sick I was pretty worried that he may not have a long time left and what time he did have I wondered what the quality would be like. I started to force feed him myself by putting his special diet food on my thumb and pushing it up onto the roof of his mouth. He allowed me to do this several times a day a little each time. I decided that since he was not a huge fan of this process that I would feed him twice a day. He started to pick up and then finally your product arrived and he has steadfastly improved. He eats on his own but I still feel more comfortable making sure that he has enough in him so I continue to feed him once a day, maybe twice if he has only picked at his food. He is happy and so am I, so again, Thanks!
Sharon"

"When I received the diagnosis I researched it and found Tripsy on your site and read good things about it. Since I've started her on Tripsy she has been doing very well."

"Boots was in decline until I started him on the Tripsy medication. He lived for 1 more year, but the disease continued to advance and he passed away 3 weeks ago. I am still very appreciative of the extra time we had to spend with him, before he went off to cat heaven."

"With the daily dose of Tripsy along with sub-q fluids (Ringer's 2-3X/week), the quality of Julie's life was improved and supported to the extent that she lived nearly a year longer than the veterinarian projected as possible. Until the night before she died, Julie was interested in her surroundings, her four-legged buddies, and food...esp. tunafish. I'm just grateful for all the time we had with her."

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:

My cat has a large spleen due to bacteria that was on her red blod vessels. She took antibiotics for 6 weeks. Afterward, her coat was not shiny, still had no energy and was losing weight and urinating excessively. The vet after taking many tests had no idea what else to do. She was also at the very beginning of renal disease. I looked on the computer and found Tripsy. As soon as I began using it, she began to feel better, her coat is now shiny, she has a good appetite, and urinates normally. It is like Tripsy was a miracle!

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:

Our cat gets 3 drops twice as day as she is only 7 pounds now. Down from her normal 11 pounds. Her kidney problem is her kidneys are not concentrating the water she drinks so her tissues are not absorbing any water she drinks. I feel the Tripsy is giving her a little more nourishment where she is not a heavy eater. She seems to like the taste of it. I am hoping it will keep toxins from building up in her system now that she is not concentrating water. We will tell better after she has been on it longer. I love the fact it is easy to administer and she doesn't mind the taste of it. Good luck to any of you out there who has a cat with kidney disease.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:

I have 2 older cats with kidney problems. One is over 20 yrs. old and has been diagnosed with kidney problems for about a year. The other is about 17yr. and was just diagnosed. The older one is frail and slept a lot during the day and the other was just not himself, quiet and slept more than usual. Since starting this product, both have perked up. The younger one is back to his old self, more active, and talkative. The older one has perked up, and she seems to be more aware of activity around her than in the past. I am impressed with the changes and would recommend the product to others.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:

I'm not sure if it is working because my cat, Vanilla bean, Exotic Persian has polycystic kidney disease in the early stages. I think it might be! He will be 5yrs on 12/3. I put in on his food and he seems to like it. I have used the product for about 1 yr. after I found out about his disease. If it keeps him going and happy, I'm happy.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:

Gabby is a 15 yo brown Tabby female that has a hyperthyroid condition and a year later went into chronic kidney failure. We did extensive research and found Tripsy. After reading the reviews and discussing it with our vet we decided to order it.

We started Gabby on Tripsy the first of Sept. By the first of Oct she had only been incontinent twice and once in Oct. That is the best part! I still keep plastic on all the furniture and our bed as a precaution.

Just like all herbal medicine it will need a bit of time to work. It will not work over night, but it will work. Every cat will be different in how fast they respond, so be patient.

Gabby has good days and then a bad day where she has no appetite. She hates her thyroid medicine so it is ground up and put in her canned food along with 4 drops of Tripsy twice a day. Her weight is holding steady. I had hoped she would gain weight as she lost 15 lbs when she became hyperthyroid and another 3 lbs with this disease. Holding steady is good.

Gabby is an indoor/outdoor kitty, although she spends more time indoors. She's back to going out and hunting field mice and rabbits.

Since being on Tripsy:
• Incontinence has lessened and might be gone.
• She has stopped crying all the time.
• She's more active, hunting again.

We also have a deaf 16 yo Tuxedo female and a 10 yo male kitty who is blind in one eye. The vet said go ahead and give them Tripsy as a preventative. They get it the same way, in their canned food, twice a day.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:

What a pleasant surprise! I only tried it as a last resort for our cat, Olwyn, who we had recently learned only had one working kidney. His appetite had been off, and he had lost a lot of weight.

When I read several reviews (out of over 80 that were posted then!), they were all very positive and I decided to try Trypsy. The vet really didn't offer any solution that worked, so what did I have to lose?

All I can tell you, is that after a few days, Olwyn has gotten a great appetite and drinks lots of water since we started adding the Tripsy to his breakfast and dinner.

It's really easy to just add a few drops to his food and he eats it all up. I even find him getting into the dry food in-between sometimes.

He's still very active and spends part of his day lazying around on a soft chair, enjoying the sun on our patio.

I certainly can't say that Tripsy made his other kidney grow back.....ha, but whatever herbals they use, certainly do make the one he does have, work great! Thanks.

Tripsy has been very effective in treating my 10 year old cat that developed kidney stones and was peeing on my carpet. I was at a lost and thought I'd have to put her down -- since there didn't seem to be anything that worked. I found "Tripsy" and she has shown major improvement. My Vet is pleased and I shared this information with them for future cat owners that have this issue.

Tripsy has been like a miracle for my cat. She was at the beginning of renal disease, and her fur was a dull color. The Veterinarian said at 3 years old she had "old eyes."

Now I have just bought my second bottle of Tripsy because the kidney problem has disapeared since she has been taking Tripsy, her fur is shinning and so are her eyes!

I actually ordered Tripsy for my mom's 18 yr. old cat, Misty. Misty had lost his appetite and was becoming dehydrated. The vet did some blood work and found that things were better than expected but Misty was due to take his semi-annual airline flight between Ontario and B.C. and we were worried he wouldn't be able to make the trip. After locating the product through a web search, we rush shipped Tripsy to us and it arrived on a Friday. My mom and Misty were to start their journey the following Wednesday. By that time, Misty was more alert and hungrier than he had been in weeks. My sister met my mom and Misty upon their arrival in B.C. and thought to herself "there's nothing wrong with this cat". Now it's two and a half weeks later and Misty is still eating well, maybe crying for his food a little too often! This product turned out to be a true blessing, thank you.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:

My gold himalayan cat Frank had a kidney infection from the Chinese cat food. We gave it to him (one bottle's worth) for 22 weeks, twice weekly.
At his check up over this he was deemed free from any kidney damage, everything in the mid-normal range. Frank weighed 10 pounds then.
Two years later he was attacked and beaten.
We gave it to him up until his death this past March. Even with kidney failure he was able to pee normally. We had gone through two bottles, his weight had fallen to five pounds and we gave him a normal daily dose, he couldn't hydrate anymore. Frank was eighteen when he died.
We rescued a starving pregnant wild cat in July and began feeding her as much as she wanted; four cans of cat food a day!! Bella was so thin you could see her eight baby lumps. On Derby day she disappeared and gave birth. We tried to find them so she could live indoors with us but never could. We fed her every now and again and, then, one day seven weeks later she walked into our home and has never left; she hates going outside and we didn't force her to. She is a large twelve pound tuxedo cat with white whiskers and gold eyes. She has a long body, legs and tail and such tiny head we use a shoestring collar for her. Whenever she stretches she is a classic Halloween scardy cat. She was very wobbly at first and hind sensitive so we gave her our leftover Tripsy three times a week. Before taking it we could tell she dreaded peeing, it would take her several attempts. Her increased activity and lack of fear of the litter box were a welcome positive signs after just three weeks. She has adapted well and she gets a couple normal doses a month. She has since been spayed. She actually likes the Tripsy, she never balks or runs from it. Bella is just one year old.
We keep Tripsy cold in the refrigerator and it does exactly what it says it does. There is no other effective product like it on the market today. Neither of our cats had any discomfort from taking it.
This was crucial proof for us because the most often cited cause of death for a senior cat is kidney failure. And in wild female cats it is pregnancy. I had to think about that one because Bella was actually the first female feral cat I had ever seen. I believe Tripsy has enhanced both our cats's lives and have lived and will live longer for taking it.

Dickens was diagnosed three years ago with chronic kidney disease. I started him on Tripsy after a three day visit to the vet where they hydrated him and force-fed him via a tube down the throat. I brought him home, continued the force-feeding (not with the tube) for a while as well as administering the Tripsy formula. I credit the Tripsy with his continued longevity. Thanks!
