What is Supraglan?

Supraglan uses natural ingredients to lower your dog's adrenal system from a hyperactive functioning state, slowing overproduction of corticosteroid hormones. Traditional therapies work more like chemotherapy; actually eroding the layers of the adrenal gland that produces corticosteroid hormones.

Natural, herbal treatment: Supraglan is Vet-formulated and approved

Cushing's syndrome is a myriad of abnormalities that are the result of hypersecretion of corticosteroids by the adrenal cortex. Supraglan was formulated by a leading naturopathic veterinarian to normalize adrenal functioning and to ease symptoms of Cushing’s. It is gentle yet effective, safe for long-term use without adverse side effects.

Supraglan is designed to restore your pet’s quality lifestyle and to increase life expectancy by reducing thirst and regulating elimination (liver/kidney and digestive); balancing blood sugar levels (endocrine); increasing muscle use and ability (anti-inflammatory); protecting against infection (immune); and by promoting a healthy skin and coat (natural herbs)

How do the Ingredients treat Cushings Disease?

Bistort: restores and invigorates the liver and kidneys
Wild Yam: works as an anti-inflammatory
Milk Vetch: stimulates the liver to clear toxins
Dandelion: eases the digestive symptoms of Cushing's & stimulates appetite
Licorice: enhances natural cortisol effects decreasing the need for synthetic corticosteroids
Borage: restores adrenal cortex, stimulates endocrine system & improves immune system
Eleutherococus Senticosus: balances hormonal actions (ACTH & cortisone) of adrenal glands

What is Cushing's disease?

Cushing's disease results from an excess of adrenal gland hormones. It is a common side-effect of drugs like Prednisone, which is often prescribed to treat dog arthritis, allergies and other ailments. Cushing's disease can also result from a benign tumor on one of the adrenal glands or the pituitary gland.

Symptoms of Cushing's disease include:

 • Increased thirst and appetite
 • Frequent urination
 • Loss of hair
 • Skin problems
 • Panting
 • High blood pressure
 • Increased susceptibility to infections

If left untreated, Cushing's disease can lead to even worse conditions like diabetes and heart problems.

Traditional Therapies

Note: If your dog's Cushing’s could be caused by a corticosteroid drug such as Prednisone, it may be possible to wean your dog off the drug. You should speak to your vet about this. Prednisone sometimes has side effects that are worse than the condition it was used to treat, and makes your dog more susceptible to bacterial and viral infections. Every day, we get calls from customers looking for an alternative to Prednisone L-deprenyl (Anipryl) - for treatment of pituitary-dependent Cushing’s disease (PDH), especially in cases that are mild and when owners are unwilling to risk the adverse effects associated with mitotane or trilostane. The experience of most veterinarians who have used the drug for the treatment of this condition has been poor.

Mitotane (Lysodren) - During its evaluation as an insecticide, mitotane was discovered to have adrenocorticolytic effects. The most obvious and rapid response is a reduction in water intake, urine output, and appetite, which usually occur at the end of the initial course of therapy. Muscle strength and exercise tolerance improve over the first 3-4 weeks. Skin and hair coat changes take longer and the progress is variable. After the first re-evaluation, rechecks should be scheduled every 3-6 months for the rest of the pet’s life to determine whether the dose of mitotane needs to be adjusted depending on the results of ACTH response testing. Overall, based on the results of three survival studies, the mean survival time of treated dogs with pituitary-dependent Cushing’s disease is 24 to 30 months with a range of 1 day to 13 years.

Surgery - If your dog's Cushing's disease was caused by a tumor, surgery might be an option. Only your vet can answer this question.

Trilostane - Trilostane has been shown to be an effective treatment for canine and feline Cushing’s syndrome. Trilostane is a synthetic, orally active steroid analogue. It acts as a competitive inhibitor of the 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenate enzyme system and thereby inhibits the synthesis of cortisol and aldosterone as well as other steroids. The blockade is reversible and appears to be dose related.

Why should you try Supraglan? Our customers have the final word...

"I just wanted to let you know how very pleased I am with Supraglan. My dog had suffered from Cushing's disease for over two years, but now - just one month after starting Supraglan - his skin, fur and energy level are noticeably better. And I've only gone through half a bottle!" - Valerie P., Los Angeles

"When he started peeing in the house for no reason, I took my 10-year old terrier cross (Ben) to the vet. Turns out Ben has Cushing's disease. The vet wanted to put Ben on some harsh and expensive drugs, but I didn't think Ben could handle the side effects. After talking to some friends, we put Ben on Supraglan instead. I can't tell you how great it is to find a safe, natural treatment that really works!

Testimonial
"Last week I took Ben back to the vet. Immediately, the vet could see how Ben had improved. I told the vet about Supraglan, and he said he was going to start recommending it to anyone seeking a natural, alternative treatment for Cushing's" - Kelly J., Chicago

"I just wanted to say thanks for your wonderful product Supraglan. We started our dog Ralphie on it last September and it gave us months of extra quality time with him. The Cushings finally did get to him to the point where we had to put him to rest on Monday. If it weren't for your product it would have been a long time ago.
Again many thanks," - Jerry Shuren

"Our TT-Jazz could barely stand on her feet. She was very weak. Blood test showed she had a toxic liver and more tests were needed confirm Cushings Disease and/or cancer. I was devastated over her illness. The high medical costs that did not guarantee her recovery, with her age as an issue, added to my distress. So I prepared for the worse.

Thanks to web research I discovered your site and purchased Milk Thistle and Supraglan. That was a month ago, and TT-Jazz has renewed energy, a healthy appetite -- actually she's back to her old finicky self again. Her coat is looking more healthy, and she's light on her feet. I've been given additional quality time with her -- and for her age that's important to me. Thanks for your knowledge in the products and kind support.

The customer rep was always kind and patient with me. She knew I wanted to make my pet's aging life as comfortable as possible. She provided clear explanation about the products. The rep's quality assistance paid off. Much thanks to her."

"I was skeptical if Supraglan would help our 11 year old beagle with Cushings Syndrome. It has! He has much more energy, his sway back has straightened some, limp is gone, eyes are white, and his stomach is not nearly as bloated."

Testimonial
When I took our 13 year old Border Collie - Katana - to the Vet in early February, I was told there wasn't really anything more they could do. She did not tolerate the Lysoderm and actually quit eating & could barely get up. Her hair was incredibly thin & about 2 inches of the tip of her tail was bald. We started her on Supraglan early February. She is now getting around much better. Her appetite is definitely back and the most amazing thing is that her hair has filled out again and the tip of her tail is totally covered with hair. She is much more comfortable, not perfect by any means but she looks & acts much better. I'm going to let my Vet know about Supraglan as she said she is always looking for alternative medicines.
Sincerely, Teresa R.

Comments about NHV Supraglan for Dog Cushings Disease:

This is my second review and Supraglan is still working. My Vet is losing money and my pet is in better health. Make sure you have the yearly older dog blood tests to detect the possibility of cushings. The earlier you catch the symptoms the better. My dog was 510 on the test scale which is just over the boarder. I didn't proceed with the more definate testing as I knew she had it because of 3 symptoms. Excessive drinking, eating, and panting. The Supraglan cut all of these symptoms in half and my 11 year old Springer is happy.

I have been using this for only a little while but I am praying that it will help my little ShihTzu who is in the early stages of Cushings Disease. It is very easily administered. No side effects. I am really happy to have found something that is completely natural. I do not want to put him on any Vet medications if I can help it. So far he is doing well. Thank you.

Comments about NHV Supraglan for Dog Cushings Disease:

The conventional meds I was giving my 7 year old Chessie being treated for Cushing's Disease had side effects beyond the benefits of administering them any longer, so tried Supraglan and saw positive results within the first few days! No more panting, excessive water intake/urination, deminished food drive and stomach distention. So sad to read the negative reviews written by professional DVMs, when the "proof is in the pudding". Thanks for improving my dog's quality of life.

Comments about NHV Supraglan for Dog Cushings Disease:

I want to tell you how amazing this product is my dog has cushings and the side effects were panting eating and drinking non stop. This gal was very bloated and stressed I would say just not happy could not sit still.
My dog has been on this for 3 weeks I am amazed she is thinner eats and drinks less this means she pee's less . She seem's so much happier she is 14 years old she seem's so relaxed and so much happier all these side effects are gone.

I am so amazed by this product I just ordered the medication for my dog who has heart disease and then will move on to the joint health. I have a lot of older dogs and some of the medication just scares me all the side effects.

Thanks so much I will keep giving you feed back as we go along

When my dog was first diagnosed with cushings I used medication from the vet but it was too expensive. I found Supraglan and thought I would give it a try,it is much more affordible. It has worked well for my dog. She seems to be drinking less water than before the Supraglan. I just put it on a piece of bread and eats it right up.

Our dog showed signs of Cushings, although not tested yet. We have used the Supraglan for about a month and almost all of our 8 year old English Bulldog's skin problems are cleared up. Her last blood tests showed almost all liver cleared and no further kidney damage. We are also using prescription dog shampoo. I will re-order the Supraglan. We will try anything, for our beloved Lola!

This product seems to be really helping my dog with Cushings. He could not walk up stairs, he would fall down if he went to retrieve his ball. He had muscle trembling and muscle wasting in his hind end. He has been on Supraglan for 3 weeks now and the hind end trembling has stopped. He can walk up the stairs again, also his water consumption has gone down too. I would recommend this product.

Comments about NHV Supraglan for Dog Cushings Disease:

My dog started showing recent symptoms of Cushings (and I've done a lot of research) but has not been tested yet. I was concerned that the medication she may need to go on if diagnosed would be extremely strong. She is 12 years old but very active. I talked to my vet about Supraglan & she agreed that I should try it on her. She has been on it for about 2 weeks and it has really made a difference. Her main issue was excessive drinking & peeing and having accidents in the house (which is not like her.) She went from drinking a bowl & 1/2 at her worst to slightly less than a bowl now which is much better. She can drink and then wait to go out. I will have her blood tested next month to see if her liver numbers have gone down as those also tend to be high for some unknown reason. Anyway, very happy to be able to give her something natural that seems to really be helping her.

Pebbles is my nearly 14 year old Fox Terrier mix...Her prescription meds tripled in price from one month to the next, so I searched out a viable alternative and found it in Supraglan...She started acting like a puppy again and doesn't exhibit signs of her disease, Cushings...I'm so pleased with the results that I've recommended this product to several other pet owners who have dogs battling this disease...Pebbles is satisfied with her daily ration of food and doesn't over-drink anymore.

My Bichon, 10 yrs. old, was diagnosed last year with "Cushings Disease" symptoms & the vet wanted to treat him with chemotherapy. I did not want to put my dog through that & researched natural remedies! Based on feedback on this product I gave it a shot & am happy to say that my dog has become very energetic, like a puppy, and seems that his "Cushings" symptoms have subsided - I am so thankful for this great product!

Comments about NHV Supraglan for Dog Cushings Disease:

My 12 year old Min Pin ( Honey Bun ) was diagnosed with Cushings Disease in October 2010. After spending $320.00 for blood test, I talked to the Vet and told her I had looked on the Internet to find a Natural formula to give my dog.

I did not want to put my dog through any harsh treatment that the Vets want to use. I found this site Petwellbeing. I read all the reviews about Supraglan.

I printed off the description of Supraglan and took the papers with me.
I said this is what I am going to try and the Vet actually said she would do the same if she were me. She even wrote the name of it down.

I received my order (2 bottles) on November 13th. 2010. I started giving it to her that night as the directions said.
I didn't see very much difference in the first 2 weeks. But after 2 weeks I began to see a remarkable difference. She is not drinking as much water as she was. She isn't urinating as much either. Hardly ever has an accident wetting on the floor. In fact I really don't remember the last time she went on the floor.

She has a lot more energy now like she used to have.

I take a small piece of bread about the size of a quarter and put 7 drops of Supraglan on it twice a day and hand it to her. She looks forward to getting it. She waits for me to give it to her first and then eats her dog food.

I am so glad that I found this site and decided to give it a try. It actually works !

Thank You Petwellbeing ! Honey Bun thanks you also !

We started our oldest beagle on Supraglan about a year and a half ago for her cushing's disease. She is now 13, has maintained a steady weight, her hair is back to normal, and she can walk past a water bowl without drinking the entire thing!!I owe it all to Supraglan, without that, I probably wouldn't have treated her, since the treatment is a chemo pill and didn't want to put her through the side effects. I even recommended it to our vet!

My 11 y/o daschaund has Cushings which progessed into Diabetes. She was still not doing well with just the insulin (lethargic, hair loss,Hyperuria, etc.) within 3 weeks of taking the supra glan she is sleeping well. the s/s of increased urination and thirst are gone. She loves to walk (no run) again. The hair on her belly is really growing back.

We have a 12-year old mini-schnauzer who has been diagnosed with Cushings. Before, Jazzie was lifeless, constantly drink, eat, and frequently urinating. The symptoms were driving us crazy. Frantically looking for any answers I saw Supraglan on-line. We were very skepitical at first but now can't imagine being without it. Jazzie is like her "old self", playful, her personality has returned and even jumping up on furniture( which she hasn't done in months). I would highly recommend Supraglan without any reservations.

I've been using Supraglan for about 2 months on my almost 14 year old mixed breed 60 lb dog. He doesn't have the skin problems, but has the thirst & panting problems associated with Cushings disease. There are some days when he pants less & drinks less & other days when the symptoms are greater. I find it easier to put the drops in a little broth. I was hoping for the great results that other users found, but a small improvement is better than none.
